July 22, 1985: Pirates (37-54) at Dodgers (58-35)

Bob Welch hurled a 2 hitter and first baseman Pedro Guerrero had 2 base hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 4 to 1 at DODGER STADIUM. 

Welch(12-5) was tremendous on the mound for Los Angeles. He allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Los Angeles totaled 9 hits on the night. 

Jim Winn(1-6) ended up with the loss. Tommy Lasorda was very impressed with his pitcher, Welch, 'He had unusually good pitch placement tonight. It was almost unfair - but a beautiful game to watch from where I sat'
