In an embarrassing outing for the New York Mets pitching staff, San Francisco Giants flexed their collective muscle amassing 10 runs as Mike Krukow(6-15), with relief help from Frank Williams, surrendered 2 runs to New York. 

San Francisco jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 5 runners on 4 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. New York was out-hit by San Francisco, 14 hits to 7.
