September 5, 1985: Indians (50-87) at Red Sox (81-52)

Tony Armas homered and had 3 RBI as the very talented Boston Red Sox topped the Cleveland Indians in 11 innings by a score of 9 to 6 at FENWAY PARK. 

Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. Boston came out on top in the 11th inning. Dwight Evans led off and got things going when he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Jim Rice came to the plate and laced a single. One out later, Armas then clubbed a three-run home run resulting in a mighty exciting win for Boston and the 48,693 home town fans in attendance. Boston rapped out 12 hits for the night. 

The victory was credited to Mark Clear(2-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. Rich Thompson(1-4) was charged with the loss in relief.
