September 16, 1985: Orioles (71-72) at Tigers (86-57)

Barbaro Garbey hit a homerun at TIGER STADIUM as the Detroit Tigers beat the ice-cold Baltimore Orioles 9 to 5. 

Detroit came up with 5 runs in the 4th inning when they had 3 base hits. The big moment was provided by Kirk Gibson who brought a roar from the partisan TIGER STADIUM fans when he brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer. Detroit ended up with 12 hits for the game while Baltimore had 7. 

Dan Petry(14-11) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 6 innings. Juan Berenguer recorded the save, his 2nd. Scott McGregor(12-8) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 4 innings of work.
