April 15, 1985 Game 73: Mets (3-2) at Pirates (3-2)

It's a cold day in Pittsburgh today and only 5,575 would show up and the stadium today. Rick Aguilera and Rick Rueschel would each make their first start of the year.

It was a pitchers dual up until the 6th inning when the Pirates would score on Aguilera.  Brown Would single scoring Reuschel, Pena would then single scoring Brown and it is 2-0 Pirates.  The Pirates would go up 4-0 when Reuschel would help his own cause with a 2 run Homer.

THe Mets cut into that 4-0 lead in the 8th when a Carter Homer would make it 4-1.  Heep would single and Strawberry would score making it 4-2. The Pirates would go up 6-2 when Reuschel would add his day with a double would score Pena and Thompson. Khalifa would be thrown out at the plate Wilson.  In the 9th The Mets would cut the lead in half when a Wilson single will score Bowa and its now 6-3.

Reuschel would have a huge day as he would get 12 strikeouts and he went 3-4 with 2 2b's, HR and 4 RBI.
