April 20, 1985 Game 130: Pirates (6-3) at Cardinals (6-3)

Its the battle of the top teams in the NL East and each wants to sit at the top alone.  The Pirates are looking to Lee Tunnell to get them there and The Cardinals send Danny Cox to the hill.

The Pirates get 2 in the 2nd and Brown get on with an error by Cox,  Pena singles, Reynolds bounces into a 3 FC and the runners advance. Khalifa singles and both runners score.  They will make it 3-0 in the 4th as Brown singles, Pena singles, Khalifa doubles and Brown scores.

The Cardinals finally get some runs in the 5th.  Cox singles and Coleman singles, Cedeno hits into a 4-3 FC and the runners advance.  Herr singles and Both runners score and its now 3-2 Pirates.  In the 6th the Cardinals take the lead when they get 2 more off of Tunnell and send him to the showers.  Van Slyke singles and steals 2nd, SMith singles and Van Slyke scores, Cox singles and its 1st and 2nd.  Coleman singles and Smith scores to make it 4-3 Cardinals.

The Pirates tie the game at 4 in the 7th.  Orsulak doubles, Morrison doubles and Orsulak scores.  The Cardinals take back the lead in the bottom of the 7th when Herr singles and steals 2nd, Van Slyke singles and Herr scores and its 5-4 Cardinals.

The Pirates tie it up in the 8th as Pena homers off of Cox to make it 5-5.  The Cardinals win the game in the bottom of the 9th when Clark takes a Winn fastball as puts it in the rightfield seats to win the game.
