April 21, 1985 Game 132: Mariners (5-6) at Angels (7-4)

These two teams have split the first two games of this series and each desperately need a series win.  The Angels will send Rafael Lugo out to face Jim Beattie.

In the 3rd the Angles get to Beattie as Pettis issued a leadoff walk and steals 2nd.  Carew lays down a bunt that Presley has to play and throws him out at 1st and Pettis advances to 3rd.  Jones hits a grounder to Perconte and that will score Carew.  Beattie then throws a hard slider to Jackson who crushes it towards South America and it is 2-0 Angels.

in the 4th Spike Owen gets the Mariners within 1 with his solo Home Run of off Lugo and its 2-1.  The Angels get another run of off Beattie in the in the 8th.  Carew is walk and advances to 2nd on Jones groundout to Perconte.  Downing then puts one over Calderon's head for a double and Carew scores easily and now its 3-1.

Donnie Moore makes it interesting in the 9th, he gets the first 2 hitters easily then  he would load the bases.  Then he strikes-out Henderson to seal the win.
