May 15, 1985 Game 403: Tigers (19-10) at Twins (14-17)

Todd Crane allowed Sparky Anderson to rest the bullpen.  He pitched his 2nd shutout in a row and extended his scoreless innings streak to 20.2.  He was not the story today as the Tiger offense exploded for 20 runs on 23 hits.  Every starter had at least 1 hit.

They were lead by Alejandro Sanchez who went 4-6 with 3 HR and 8 RBI's.  He hit a grand slam in the 1st, a 2 run homer in the 2nd and a 2 run homer in the 9th.  Lance Parrish also had a big day at the plate.  He went 5-6 with 2 HR's and drove in 4 runs.

The Twins were stymied by Crane as they could only get 3 runners into scoring position.  The closest they came to scoring was in the 8th, they had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1-out.  Crane strikes out Brunansky and Bush grounds out to Whitaker. 

Todd Crane goes the distance gets the win and he improves to (5-0).  Frank Viola take the loss after only going 1.1 and giving up 8 runs and falls to (4-4)
