John Russell came off the bench and delivered 2 big hits. In the 1st he would single home a run. In the 3rd he hit a 2-out 2 run HR (3) to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead. He went 2-3 with a HR and 3 RBI.Steve Carlton (4-1) gets the win. He would allow 1 run on 4 hits and 5 walks. He also struck out a season high 6. Mike Krukow (1-6) was good allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and 3 strike-outs. He once again was the victim of a weak offense.
