Neither starter would make it into the 2nd inning today as both offenses were swinging hot bats. At the end of the 1st it was 6-5 Orioles. Floyd Rayford hit a 3 run blast (6) for the Orioles and Bruce Bochte hit a grand slam (7) for the A's, both in the 1st inning. Rayford would go 3-5 with a HR and 3 RBI and Bochte would go 4-5 with a HR and 5 RBI.But the bullpens were not much better as 8 more runs would score after the 1st inning. Dennis Martinez would pitch 4 innings and give up 2 runs, which was enough for the win he is now (5-3). Bill Krueger wasn't so lucky. He gave up 3 runs in 1.2 innings and takes the loss. He is now (1-5).
