June 2, 1985: Indians (19-30) at Blue Jays (29-19)

Doyle Alexander went 9 solid innings as the Toronto Blue Jays outscored the Cleveland Indians 7 to 0.

Alexander(9-1) simply dominated Cleveland. He allowed only 4 hits and no walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 2.99 to 2.71. Toronto had a total of 11 hits for the game.

Don Schulze(3-7) took the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 6 innings. 'Alexander gave us exactly what we needed today.' Toronto's manager said. 'When he threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled by his change. Most of the time he had them chasing
it.'
