30,104 fans were treated to a fine game at ARLINGTON STADIUM as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Chicago White Sox won by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4. 

Tom Seaver(7-4) had a solid outing for Chicago. He surrendered 9 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Texas had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

Seaver got help from Bob James who earned his 9th save. Dickie Noles(1-4) absorbed the loss. With the win Chicago now has a record of 22-26. With the loss, the Texas ballclub's record is 22-28.
