Dwight Evans hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians by a score of 6 to 3. 

Boston came up with 5 runs in the 5th inning when they had 7 base hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Boston had 12 hits overall, while Cleveland had 7. 

The win went to Tim Lollar(3-2) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. Bob Stanley gained credit for his 16th save. Neal Heaton(6-7) was hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
