June 10, 1985: White Sox (24-29) at Mariners (27-29)

Matt Young reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts as the Seattle Mariners bested the Chicago White Sox 6 to 3 at The Kingdome. 

Young(7-4) earned his pay with a solid performance for Seattle. He allowed 10 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Chicago had 10 hits in the game while Seattle had 7, but Seattle had the more timely hits. 

Britt Burns(3-7) absorbed the loss. He struck out 9 batters in 6 and 1/3 innings despite losing the game. The Seattle fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Young, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Chuck Cottier said following the game.
