Designated hitter Henry Cotto had 2 base hits and 4 RBI as the New York Yankees defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 10 to 1 at COUNTY STADIUM. 

New York set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring 3 runners on 3 hits. That early scoring was all that Ron Guidry(9-2) needed. New York had 12 hits overall, while Milwaukee had 8. 

Ted Higuera(4-5) was given the loss. He was unable to control the New York offense and allowed 9 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings.
