June 7, 1985: Cardinals (30-21) at Mets (32-18)

Danny Cox pitched a complete game at SHEA STADIUM as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets 6 to 3.

St. Louis tallied 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning. The key at-bat was by Terry Pendleton who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he lined a single bringing home two baserunners. The New York batters didn't put up a fight in the bottom of the 9th.

Cox(4-3) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Ron Darling(5-5) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings giving up 8 hits and 6 walks.
