June 7, 1985: Rangers (24-28) at A's (19-33)

Gary Ward cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Texas Rangers clobbered the outmatched Oakland Athletics, 12 to 2. 

Ward was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 5th inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the 7th inning. For the game Texas out-hit Oakland 15 to 5. 

Charlie Hough(6-6) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Chris Codiroli(2-7) was charged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 11 hits and 6 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. 

Texas now has a record of 24-28. With the loss, Oakland has a record of 5-5 lately, 19-33, worst in the division overall.
