June 16, 1985: A's (25-37) at Indians (26-38) Game 2

40,266 fans were treated to a fine game at MUNICIPAL STADIUM as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Oakland Athletics won by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1. 

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Oakland won the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Alfredo Griffin doubled. Rob Picciolo came next and he slapped a single. Picciolo took second on the throw. Oakland finished with 10 hits in the victory. 

The win went to Tim Birtsas(5-2) who allowed 1 run in 9 innings. Jay Howell gained credit for his 13th save. Keith Creel(0-4) was hit with the loss in relief. 

With the win Oakland now has a record of 25-37. With the loss, Cleveland has a record of 6-4 lately, 26-38, worst in the division overall.
