Gorman Thomas jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI at ARLINGTON STADIUM as the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers by the count of 7 to 5. 

Matt Young(9-4) gave a fine effort for Seattle. He surrendered 5 hits and 5 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 5.19 to 4.96. Seattle had a total of 10 hits for the game. 

Dave Rozema(2-7) was the loser. He pitched 5 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk. Seattle now has a record of 32-32. With the loss, the Texas ballclub's record is 31-33.
