July 7, 1985: Giants (34-47) at Cubs (46-33)

Jody Davis connected with a homer and had 3 RBI at WRIGLEY FIELD as the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants by the count of 8 to 6. 

Davis made sure the Chicago fans enjoyed themselves. He lofted a three-run homer in the 1st inning and tripled in the 7th inning. San Francisco had 16 hits in the game while Chicago had 11, but Chicago had the more timely hits. 

Steve Trout(10-6) got the win allowing 5 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Trout was helped out by Lee Smith who recorded his 22nd save. Atlee Hammaker(9-4) was the loser. He was touched for 8 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings.
