Juan Samuel hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves 8 to 3 at FULTON CTY STADIUM. 

Philadelphia set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring 6 runners on 7 hits. That was all the runs Charles Hudson(3-8) needed. Philadelphia had 13 hits for the game and Atlanta had 9. 

The loss was charged to Len Barker(4-10). He gave up 6 runs in 3 innings and saw his ERA jump from 4.76 to 5.12. Philadelphia now has a record of 35-49. Eddie Haas was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
