July 13, 1985: Padres (50-38) at Cardinals (51-34)

In an exciting finish the streaking St. Louis Cardinals pulled out a win over the slumping San Diego Padres by a score of 3 to 2 at BUSCH STADIUM. 

St. Louis won the game with a run in the 9th inning. Jack Clark doubled. Two outs later Ozzie Smith stepped in and he doubled giving St. Louis the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. St. Louis had 9 hits overall, while San Diego had 6. 

Jeff Lahti(2-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Craig Lefferts(1-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 4 hits in 2 and 2/3 innings.
