July 14, 1985: Mets (60-27) at Astros (40-48)

The New York Mets nipped the Houston Astros 3 to 2 at Colt Stadium in a hard fought contest. 

New York did all of it's offensive work in the 6th inning as they scored 3 runs on 4 base hits. The highlight belonged to Keith Hernandez who silenced the crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners. New York won despite being out-hit by Houston 7 hits to 4. 

Sid Fernandez(15-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 2 runs. Roger McDowell gained credit for his 10th save. Bob Knepper(11-8) took the loss.
