July 18, 1985: Cubs (49-39) at Giants (38-51)

Dan Gladden touched them all and had 3 RBI at CANDLESTICK PARK as the San Francisco Giants staged a comeback win over the floundering Chicago Cubs by the count of 5 to 4. 

San Francisco erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Jose Uribe opened up the inning nicely when he laced a single. Joel Youngblood came to the plate and drew a walk. Gladden then smacked a three-run homer giving San Francisco the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. For the game San Francisco out-hit Chicago 10 to 6. 

Scott Garrelts(6-3) went 2 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Lee Smith(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief. Jim Davenport was ebullient after the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game like that. Our guys just weren't going to be denied. And did you see the fans - they were going wild! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this afternoon!'
