July 20, 1985: Astros (42-49) at Expos (41-50)

Bryn Smith pitched 13 strong innings and Andre Dawson hit a homerun at OLYMPIC STADIUM as the Montreal Expos beat the Houston Astros in 13 innings by the count of 1 to 0. 

The score was a scoreless tie after nine. Montreal was victorious in the 13th inning. Tim Raines singled. Vance Law followed next and he grounded into a double play. Dawson then took charge himself, delivering a solo home run resulting in an exciting win for Montreal and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Montreal had 11 hits for the night. 

 For Smith(7-9) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Nolan Ryan(9-11) was given the loss. He struck out 15 batters in 12 and 2/3 innings despite losing the game. 

'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball tonight.' Bob Lillis said. 'Smith simply dominated us.'
