July 23, 1985: Reds (50-43) at Mets (63-30)

The Cincinnati Reds readily handled New York Mets by a score of 6 to 2 at SHEA STADIUM. 

Cincinnati jumped on top to stay in the top of the 3rd inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The highlight belonged to Dave Parker who quieted the home crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners. Both teams ended up with 9 hits on the night. 

The win was credited to Tom Browning(10-7) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run. John Franco gained credit for his 22nd save. Dwight Gooden(14-2) took the loss.
