Right fielder Mike Marshall slammed a homerun at DODGER STADIUM where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 4 to 3. 

In the 3rd inning Los Angeles scored 2 runs when they had 4 base hits. That was all Orel Hershiser(11-7) needed. Tom Niedenfuer pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 17th save. 

Steve Trout(11-8) took the loss. He was unable to control the Los Angeles offense and allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
