July 25, 1985: Braves (26-68) at Phillies (39-55)

Glenn Wilson had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the hopeless Atlanta Braves by a score of 8 to 6.

The Philadelphia fans enjoyed the offense provided by Wilson. He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, delivered a base-hit which scored a run in the 5th inning and lined a base-hit knocking in a run in the 8th inning. Atlanta made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Jerry Koosman(4-4) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Kent Tekulve earned the save, his 17th. Len Barker(4-12) took the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.

Philadelphia now has a record of 39-55. Eddie Haas was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
