July 30, 1985: Phillies (41-57) at Pirates (41-57)

Shane Rawley carried a no-hitter into the 8th inning as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 2 to 1.

Rawley(8-12) looked very much in control throughout the night. He gave up just 2 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. The left-handed Rawley lost a no-hitter when Denny Gonzalez singled with nobody out in the 8th inning. Pittsburgh threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Kent Tekulve was credited with his 19th save. Lee Tunnell(2-10) was given the loss. Philadelphia now has a record of 41-57. With the loss, the Pittsburgh ballclub's record is 41-57.
