29,700 fans watched an exciting game at ANAHEIM STADIUM. The Seattle Mariners topped the California Angels by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4. 

Mike Moore(16-7) pitched a solid game. He allowed 3 hits and 9 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings. California was out-hit by Seattle, 8 hits to 4. 

Roy Thomas was credited with his 10th save. The losing pitcher was Kirk McCaskill(11-11). 'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Moore said, 'this was one of those times.'
