August 12, 1985: Expos (52-61) at Cubs (57-55)

Joe Hesketh had a strong outing and second baseman Vance Law had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Montreal Expos topped the Chicago Cubs by a score of 2 to 0 at WRIGLEY FIELD. 

In the top of the 5th inning Montreal scored 2 runs with the help of 3 hits. Tim Wallach led off and got things going when he doubled. Scot Thompson was next and he stroked a base-hit. Two outs later Law came up and he ripped a single bringing in two baserunners. Law took second on the throw. Montreal had a total of 7 hits for the game. 

For Hesketh(11-6) it was his 3rd shutout this year. Dennis Eckersley(14-8) ended up with the loss. 'Hesketh just dominated us' losing pitcher Eckersley said. 'Hopefully we can get to him the next time around'
