August 29, 1985: Pirates (56-71) at Reds (68-60)

In a two run game the Cincinnati Reds got by the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 6 to 4. 

Cincinnati came up with 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning when they had 3 base hits. The big moment was provided by Nick Esasky who made the Cincinnati fans a happy lot when he lofted a three-run bomb. Cincinnati won despite being out-hit by Pittsburgh 12 hits to 8. 

The victory was credited to John Stuper(13-6) who went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs. Ted Power recorded his 3rd save. Larry McWilliams(6-11) took the loss. 

The Cincinnati ballclub's record now stands at 68-60. With the loss Pittsburgh now has a record of 56-71.
