September 2, 1985: Angels (56-75) at Tigers (77-54)

The Detroit Tigers nipped the California Angels in 10 innings 5 to 4 at TIGER STADIUM in a hard fought contest. 

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Detroit was victorious in the 10th inning. After two were out Lou Whitaker drew a walk. Doug Flynn followed next and he doubled. Kirk Gibson then smacked a single making Detroit victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Detroit had 13 hits for the afternoon while California had 8. 

Randy O'Neal(2-3) went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Stu Cliburn(4-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.
