September 14, 1985: Mets (90-51) at Expos (67-74)

One run was the difference at OLYMPIC STADIUM as the powerful New York Mets defeated the Montreal Expos in 12 innings 6 to 5. 

The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. New York came out the victor in the 12th inning. After two were out Howard Johnson doubled. Rafael Santana stepped into the batter's box and he lashed a single scoring the run. New York rapped out 14 hits for the night. 

The win was credited to Roger McDowell(4-5) who went 4 innings allowing no runs. Jesse Orosco earned the save, his 14th. Tim Burke(2-7) was the loser in relief.
