September 14, 1985: Phillies (62-79) at Pirates (64-77)

Ozzie Virgil rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 9 to 5.

Virgil was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning and ripped a solo home run in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh was out-hit by Philadelphia, 10 hits to 7.

The victory was credited to Charles Hudson(8-11) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs. The loss was charged to Jose Deleon(9-16). He pitched 6 innings giving up 7 hits and 4 walks.
