Oakland had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 3 runs utilizing 5 base hits. Bruce Bochte led off and keyed the rally when he slapped a base-hit. Mickey Tettleton was next and he doubled. Jose Canseco then laced a single scoring a run. After an out was recorded, Mike Heath came to the plate and smacked a one-base hit to load the bases. Tony Phillips followed, but he was set down on strikes. Baker contributed to the rally and slapped a single making Oakland the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
