September 24, 1985: Royals (82-67) at Mariners (73-78)

Hal McRae had 4 hits and 6 RBI at The Kingdome as the Kansas City Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 10 to 3.

McRae was unconscious out there. While Seattle pitching was serving softballs up there for him to hit, the Seattle fans were serving up some hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He lined a one-base hit which plated a run in the 3rd inning, singled plating a run in the 4th inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 6th inning and doubled resulting in a run in the 7th inning. Kansas City out-hit Seattle for the game, 15 hits to 8.

Danny Jackson(11-12) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Frank Wills(5-13) took the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
