Don Robinson went 7 strong innings at Forbes Field where the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Montreal Expos 3 to 2. 

John Candelaria(5-0) earned the victory with a fine relief performance. No one was able to reach base in his 1 inning. Candelaria got relief help from Cecilio Guante who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 32nd save. 

Bert Roberge(4-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. With this win, Pittsburgh has a 68-84 record. They have been 3-7 lately. With the loss, the Montreal ballclub's record is 74-78.
