September 25, 1985: Indians (56-98) at A's (66-86)

Joe Carter went yard and had 4 RBI and Vern Ruhle had a strong outing as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Oakland Athletics by the score of 9 to 2 at OAKLAND COLISEUM.

Carter was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He stroked a single bringing in a run in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 7th inning and belted a three-run homer in the 8th inning. Cleveland had 15 hits for the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Ruhle(7-13) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Chris Codiroli(8-17) was the losing pitcher. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
