Ken Dixon shut down the Oakland batters on just 2 hits at MEMORIAL STADIUM as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Oakland Athletics by the count of 2 to 0. 

Dixon(5-12) was virtually untouchable. He didn't give up much, just 2 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 5.25 to 4.94. The Oakland bats were silent in the 9th. 

The loss was charged to Tim Birtsas(9-6). He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 4 hits and 3 walks.
