September 10, 1985: Royals (76-61) at Angels (59-79)

Rod Carew had 2 base hits as the California Angels bested the Kansas City Royals in 10 innings 5 to 4 at ANAHEIM STADIUM. 

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. California won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Carew doubled. Brian Downing next to the plate and he slapped a one-base hit. One out later, Doug Decinces then banged out a single resulting in an exciting win for California and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Kansas City was out-hit by California, 12 hits to 8. 

Pat Clements(3-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Dan Quisenberry(1-9) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 1 and 2/3 innings. 

The California ballclub's record now stands at 59-79. With the loss, Kansas City has a record of 3-7 lately, 76-61 overall.
