September 11, 1985: Royals (76-62) at Angels (60-79)

The California Angels edged the Kansas City Royals at ANAHEIM STADIUM by the score of 3 to 2. 

California scored all of the necessary runs in the 8th inning with 3 runs on 4 hits. Juan Beniquez got things going when he stroked a single. After an out was recorded, Dick Schofield came up and he delivered a one-base hit. Gary Pettis then drew a walk to load the bases. Rod Carew was up next and he smacked a single plating a run. Brian Downing came up to bat and laced a base-hit plating one more runner. Reggie Jackson kept the inning going and drew a walk scoring the final run of the inning. Kansas City had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

The victory went to Rafael Lugo(9-7) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs. Donnie Moore got the save, his 29th. Bud Black(14-10) was given the loss.
