September 11, 1985: Padres (73-66) at Reds (73-66)

The Cincinnati Reds edged the San Diego Padres in 10 innings at Crosley Field by the score of 2 to 1. 

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Cincinnati won the game in the 10th inning. After two outs Nick Esasky doubled. Dave Parker followed next and he delivered a base-hit making Cincinnati the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 8th inning. 

The victory was credited to John Franco(2-2) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Goose Gossage(5-8) was hit with the loss in relief.
