Johnny Ray went deep and had 6 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates crushed the Chicago Cubs 14 to 4. 

Ray was really 'in the zone'. He doubled which was good for two runs in the 4th inning, delivered a base-hit which plated a run in the 7th inning and belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning. Pittsburgh out-hit Chicago for the game, 18 hits to 8. 

The winning pitcher was Rick Rhoden(11-13) who allowed 4 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. The loss was charged to Steve Trout(11-16). He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.
