September 14, 1985: Rangers (70-71) at Angels (60-82)

Center fielder Oddibe McDowell smashed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Texas Rangers destroyed the California Angels by a score of 13 to 3 at ANAHEIM STADIUM. 

McDowell had a big evening at the plate. He delivered a solo blast in the 1st inning, belted a three-run homer in the 3rd inning and ripped a base-hit in the 9th inning. Overall Texas out-hit California 12 to 7. 

Mike Mason(14-12) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Jim Slaton(9-16) absorbed the loss. By surrendering 8 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings his ERA jumped from 4.55 to 4.81.
