September 15, 1985: Mets (91-51) at Expos (67-75)

Ron Darling delivered 9 solid innings and Gary Carter slammed a homerun and had 6 RBI at OLYMPIC STADIUM as the New York Mets beat the Montreal Expos 8 to 1. 

Carter had a big day at the plate. He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 3rd inning and doubled with all three runners coming home in the 5th inning. New York had 10 hits for the afternoon. 

Darling(15-13) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. The losing pitcher was Bill Laskey(3-7). He was touched for 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. 

The New York ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 91-51. With the loss, the Montreal ballclub's record is 67-75.
