September 16, 1985: Cubs (72-72) at Expos (68-75)

Left fielder Tim Raines had 2 base hits as the Montreal Expos defeated the Chicago Cubs by the score of 5 to 3 at OLYMPIC STADIUM. 

Montreal had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 4 base hits. Terry Francona kicked off the action when he doubled. After an out was recorded, Jim Wohlford stepped up to the plate and he lined a single. Sal Butera then stroked a base-hit plating a run. Mitch Webster followed next and he delivered a single scoring the final run of the inning. Montreal had 13 hits for the game and Chicago had 9. 

Bryn Smith(10-15) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 3 runs. Smith was helped out by Jeff Reardon who recorded his 24th save. Dick Ruthven(1-4) suffered the loss in relief. 

The Montreal ballclub's record now stands at 68-75. With this loss, Chicago has a 4-6 record of late, 72-72 overall.
