The Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Mariners locked up in an exciting one-run game at ROYALS STADIUM. The final score was the Kansas City Royals 6, the Seattle Mariners 5. 

Kansas City had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Darryl Motley initiated the scoring spurt when he drew a walk. John Wathan was next and he laced a base-hit. Onix Concepcion then stroked a one-base hit knocking in a run. Concepcion took second on the throw. Willie Wilson stepped in and he hit a single scoring the final run of the inning. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times. 

The winning pitcher was Dan Quisenberry(2-9) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Mike Moore(19-12) was the loser. He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
