Minnesota took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 2nd inning plating an isolated run on 2 base hits. Overall Minnesota out-hit Texas 12 to 9.
Bert Blyleven(18-11) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Chris Welsh(3-3) took the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
