September 17, 1985: A's (63-82) at Indians (53-94)

In a two run game the Oakland Athletics got by the lifeless Cleveland Indians by the score of 6 to 4. 

Oakland scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning with 3 runs using 3 hits. Dave Kingman led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk. Two outs later Mike Davis came to the plate and laced a one-base hit bringing in a run. Mike Heath then reached on an error. Donnie Hill came up and he slapped a base-hit plating another run. Hill took second on the throw. Alfredo Griffin came to the plate and laced a single scoring the final run of the inning. Steve Ontiveros was perfect in the ninth giving him his 6th save on the season.

The win went to Jose Rijo(17-7) who allowed 4 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. The losing pitcher was Neal Heaton(10-16). He gave up 6 runs and 10 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings.
